Ce site à pour but de collecter toutes les informations historiques concernant ce monument commémoratif, 

construit par des soldats allemands du Reserve Infanterie Regiment 236 lors de la première guerre mondiale,

afin de le faire connaitre, de le restaurer, et de le préserver.

Cette chapelle est située dans la commune de Falaise (Département des Ardennes(08) - France).

Toutes informations, documents, photographies d'époque, témoignages, etc...sur cette chapelle pendant la guerre de 1914-1918 et jusqu'à aujourd'hui, ainsi que toutes informations sur les soldats des régiments allemands: 

Reserve Infanterie Regiment 236, Infanterie Regiment 78, Infanterie Regiment 111 et Pionier Bataillon 28 qui ont été inhumés pendant la guerre dans l'ancien cimetière militaire qui faisait face à cette chapelle, puis transfèrés dans l'actuel cimetière militaire allemand de Chestres dans les années 1930.

Nous recherchons également toutes informations sur l'architecte Julius ZEH (habitant Freiburg (Bade) en 1917) concepteur de ce monument.

Mit dieser Internetplattform sollen historisch relevante Informationen gesammelt werden, welche diese von

deutschen Soldaten des Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments 236 während des 1. Weltkriegs errichtete Gedenkstätte

betreffen, um dieserBekanntheit zu verschaffen und zu ihrer Restaurierung und Erhaltung beizutragen.

Die Kapelle befindet sich in der Ortschaft Falaise (Département Ardennes(08), Frankreich).

                                                                                        Wir suchen deshalb:

Informationen aller Art, Dokumente, zeitgenössische Fotografien, Zeitzeugnisse usw. bezüglich der Kapelle aus

der Zeit des Weltkriegs 1914-1918, aber auch bis zur Gegenwart, sowie Informationen über Soldaten folgender

deutscher Truppenteile:

Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 236, Infanterie-Regiment 78, Infanterie-Regiment 111 und Pionier-Bataillon 28, die

während des Kriegs auf dem der Kapelle gegenüber liegenden Soldatenfriedhof beigesetzt worden waren und

später (ca. 1930) auf den heutigen deutschen Soldatenfriedhof Chestres umgebettet wurden.

Ferner suchen wir Informationen jeder Art über den Architekten Julius Zeh (1917 wohnhaft in Freiburg (Breisgau),

dem der Entwurf für die Kapelle zu verdanken ist.

                                                       Notes for site visitors

This site aims at collecting historical information related to this memorial structure built during WW I by German soldiers of Reserve-Infanterie-Regiemt 236, and at maling it better known and contributing to its restoration and conservation.

The chapel is located in the village of Falaise (Département Ardennes(08), France).

                                                                                     We are looking for:

Any information, documents, photographs, period texts etc., related to the chapel and dating from WW I or even present-day material, as well as information on any German military personnel of the following formations: Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment 236, Infanterie-Regiment 78, Infanterie-Regiment 111 and Pionier-Bataillon 28, who were buried on the military cemetery facing the chapel during WW I, ans subsequently transferred to the German War Cemetery at Chestres around 1930.

We are also looking for information on architect Julius Zeh who lived at Freiburg (Breisgau) in 1917 and who designed the Falaise chapel.
